J.R.LIGGETT'S Herbal Formula is made from...
Olive Oil
The remarkable benefits of olive oil have been known for thousands of years. It is a natural conditioner that makes hair shiny and soft, and is loaded with antioxidants to keep your scalp healthy. Olive oil fights hair loss by helping control dandruff, fungi, and bacteria. It prevents hair follicle shafts from narrowing by preventing DHT hormone production, letting you hold onto your hair longer. It can also improve blood circulation to the scalp and stimulate hair follicles, giving you thicker, healthier strands.
Coconut Oil
The main component behind our luxurious lather, coconut oil works wonders on the hair and scalp. The fats present in coconut oil retain the moisture content of the skin, and help eliminate further losses. The antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties found within protect from microbial infections than can enter through the pores. Coconut oil also contains Vitamin E, and is fantastic with skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema.
Castor Oil
Native to Africa and India, this oil is well known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It accelerates blood flow to the scalp, thus increasing hair growth. It is very nourishing on the scalp and helps strengthen the roots with essential nutrients.
Vitamin E
A powerful antioxidant, Vitamin E serves as an excellent moisturizer. It has the added benefit of protecting against UV radiation and environmental pollution. This essential nutrient can inhibit the signs of premature aging, and enhances the absorption of other natural oils into the hair and scalp. Vitamin E also works wonderfully on color treated hair.
Rosemary
Rosemary contains anti-oxidants, is good for a dry itchy scalp, stimulates blood flow and circulation, soothes and conditions dry, flaky scalps, and is helpful in clearing dandruff.
Rosemary is believed to stimulate hair follicles and hair growth, and to slow down or even permanently hold off premature hair loss and gray hair.
Lavender
Lavender has anti-septic and anti-fungal properties, is good for treating eczema, and helps heal wounds and cuts. Fungal infections can affect healthy people as well as those with poor circulation, weak immune systems, diabetes, and people who take antibiotics or corticosteroid drugs. Warm, moist body areas such as the underarms, behind the ears, scalp and between the toes are likely locations for fungal growth. Lavender is also quite effective on lice, lice eggs, and nits. For centuries, Lavender has been well-known for it's calming and relaxing properties--a real bonus for those who of us who may have trouble sleeping.
Cedarwood
Known for its calming, sedating aroma, cedarwood has anti-inflamatory and antiseptic properties that are effective in treating minor wounds. Containing vitamins A, B, C, E, Â and F, cedarwood has astringent properties that aid in the care of oil and acne prone skin.

So far, after 1-2 months of this being the only shampoo I use (I wash my hair about 1x / week, more if I’ve been outside getting dirty or sweaty), seems pretty good. I don’t think I’ve used conditioner (MAYbe once or twice??) since I’ve been using this shampoo, and doesn’t seem a problem.
There’s been a couple times or so where I’ve thought my hair felt a bit waxier than it used to be with prior shampoo/conditioner, but not a lot waxy.
My hair (just over the ears guy hair) gets poofy, once dry, if no soft pomade weighing it down, but MAYbe this shampoo is helping weigh it down a little.
This is the third bar in my sampler box. Like the previous rater, I found this shampoo bar left my hair feeling a bit waxy as well. Something in the formula left my scalp itchy too; something I didn’t experience with the moisturizing formula. I have 3 more to try, so I hope to find the right formula.
Hello Dakota,
